The very famous Cardamom essential oil is obtained from Elettaria cardomomum and is also known as Elettaria cardomomum var. Cardomomum. It is from the Zingiberaceae family and is also familiar with various names such as cardamomi, cardomum, and Mysore cardamom.  This perennial reed-like herb i.e. Cardamom usually grows in wild areas and is cultivated in countries like India and Ceylon. It usually grows up to a height of 4 meters and it has long green silky blades, and small yellowy color flowers that carry a violet tip.
